Representation in tide

 Dress code, hairstyle, fashion, make-up

Feminine sense of fashion and makeup. Red lipstick seems to be popular in terms of media. Hair back, possibly so they are prepared to clean or cook. Face full of makeup and perfect/neat clothes which juxtaposes what she was doing, cleaning and cooking would get her dirty.

Intertextuality to famous women of the time

Marilyn Monroe was seen as the perfect woman at that time period, as she expressed the complete beauty standard in women (Skinny, blonde hair, feminine)

Ideologies and lifestyle

Women were just seen as housewives, nurtured their husband and children. They were seen as submissive and weak, and inadequate outside the house. Her place is the kitchen.

Narrative, the job role

Women were stuck in the kitchen most of the time, so society just assumed that women love to clean and that's the only thing they're good at doing. Females were nurturing while men were the providers.

Use of text and language

"Tides got what women want!" reinforces the notion that women are seen as house workers and have an instinct to clean.
